Biografie
Silke Wiegand lebt und arbeitet in Berlin und Frankfurt. Als Tänzerin, Choreografin und Regieassistentin hatte sie Engagements am Staatstheater Darmstadt, der Oper Frankfurt, der Euroszene Leipzig, am The Place und beim Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Hier konnte sie mit Künstlern wie David Alden, Bob Mc Grath, Tilman Knabe, Patricia Leinhos, Norbert de Jager, Tino Sehgal und Noritoshi Hirakawa zusammenarbeiten. 2005 hat sie das Ensemble SHADEseasons gegründet und seitdem mehrere Produktionen realisiert. Zudem arbeitete sie als Assistentin für Tanznotation-Publikationen für Dr. Ann Hutchinson Guest (Language of Dance Centre) im Bereich der Labanotation und Motif Notation.
Silke Wiegand absolvierte ihr Dance Theatre BA (hons) Studium am Laban Centre London und einen Master in Dramaturgie an der Hessischen Theaterakademie in Frankfurt (Wolfgang-Goethe-Universität). 2010 schloss sie ihre Pilates-Ausbildung (Geräte und Matte) bei Joanna Mountifield in Berlin ab.

Silke Wiegand is a dance artist who lives and works in Berlin, Frankfurt and London. In 2005, she obtained her MA in Dramaturgy at the Hessische Theaterakademie in Frankfurt. Since graduating with a BA (Hons) Dance Theatre from the Laban Centre London, Silke had assignments as a dancer, choreographer and director’s assistant at the Tanztheater Darmstadt, Oper Frankfurt, Euroszene Leipzig, Edinburgh Festival and Resolution! at The Place London. During these projects she has worked with Tilman Knabe, Patricia Leinhos, Noritoshi Hirakawa, Tino Sehgal and others.
In 2005, Silke Wiegand has founded her company SHADEseason and since then has produced various dance projects. Furthermore, Silke Wiegand was a finalist with her piece „Che(ck)que“ at the international dance competition „Das Beste Tanzsolo“ in Leipzig (2002). In 2006, she was invited to the European Union DanceResearchProject in Pärnu (Estonia) and awarded the choreography-scholarship „Exploratorium“ by Dance Northwest (Liverpool). In 2008, she was invited to participate the production competition www.operare.de in Berlin, and the Masdanza international Dancefestival in Gran Canaria www.masdanza.com. Between 2008 -2009, Silke Wiegand was an artist in residency at the Tacheles Berlin.
Beside her own artistic work, Silke Wiegand assisted Dr. Ann Hutchinson Guest on various publications in Dancenotation (Labanotation and Motif Notation) and plans German translations on Motif Notation in the near future. For further information please visit www.lodc.org.
